MITEINANDER

(for English version please see below)

With each other

The tradition of our yoga convention as a way of learning from each other, meeting and sharing has shifted to the digital space since the outbreak of the pandemic. Even though we miss many beautiful aspects of a presence convention, both online workshops with Abijhata have shown us how beneficial such events are, how inspiring and important. They remind us that we are all part of one big community in the spirit of Iyengar Yoga. In 2022, our convention will also take place online via Zoom.

JAWAHAR BANGERA

has been a student of BKS Iyengar since 1969, as a very young man, then began teaching in Mumbai himself some time later and accompanied Guruji on many of his journeys over the decades.

His deep understanding of the Iyengar method, which has grown over the years, coupled with his insights into the yoga sutras, have long made him one of the most important teachers of Iyengar yoga worldwide. In Germany, he taught the convention in Leipzig in 2007.

In Mumbai, he is one of the trustees of the Light on Yoga Research Trust, which offers yoga classes in three centres across the city. He also teaches there regularly.
